Engineering Researcher for Military Service Exemption Position

The IBS Center for Multidimensional Carbon Materials (CMCM) at the Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology (UNIST) is searching for an engineering researcher, who wishes to apply for the Military Service Exemption Position: That is available for additional enrollment for this year. The duties of the position are as follows:

-Can design components and instrumentation using SolidWorks and/or other design software

-Can run simulation software such as Comsol, perhaps others such as Fluent (fluid mechanics), and others

-Has experience building systems, and/or working closely with companies that build the system

-Has experience with work in machine shop

-Has experience with work with open source software and hardware (Arduino)

-Has experience testing the component(s) and/or instrument(s) to evaluate its performance and to prove it is working as desired.

-Proactively communicate project status, issues and risks to teams and management

-Troubleshoot technical issues when the need arises, and fix as needed

-Collegial personality, enjoys talking and working with others

-Interest in helping scientists achieve better science

The candidate should also have following requirements:

-Master's degree in an engineering or science discipline

-Good English ability; strong written and oral communication skills

-Can start an employment at IBS CMCM right away.
