IBS Center for Multidimensional Carbon Materials

Research Fellow position / Materials Group

01 Feb 2019 / CMCM
Deadline / Closing

Research Fellow positions available in the Materials Group

The Materials group in the IBS Center for Multidimensional Carbon Materials (CMCM) at the Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology (UNIST) is searching for a Research Fellow. The materials group is primarily an experimental group with a number of foci including (but not limited to) CVD and wet chemistry approaches to the synthesis of carbon materials, new methods of preparing materials by, e.g., thermal methods, and others. Characterization by spectroscopies, microscopies, and other methods including measurement of physical properties such as mechanical, electrical, thermal, and so on, is also typical.

The candidate must be motivated to independently identify a research direction that can generate high-impact publications and follow the project through to completion. The candidate should have strong written and verbal communication skills, be prepared to mentor junior members of the research team, and be self-motivated to contribute their ideas and knowledge to other projects underway in the group.

Ph.D. graduates who along with the above have a track record of high impact publications are particularly encouraged to apply. Salary and other terms of the position, including the start date, are negotiable.

If you are interested in this position, please send your CV to ruofflab@gmail.com and also include a brief outline of a potential topic you are motivated to explore in the group.
